'From native plant gardener to house cat': Wild tortie found atop wood pile in yard, woman adopts her despite husband's allergies

Could you imagine adopting a cat when your husband has cat allergies? That's exactly what this woman does in the story below. 

When you find a wild tortoise shell cat screaming on a pile of wood in your yard, you know it's a message from the universe. Take it from the woman who wrote in Reddit's r/torties about the brazen kitten she now calls Acer. It was last September, she was sitting on the pile of wood. She started visiting the yard as a young kitten. The woman's maternal instincts kicked in, and she felt that Acer was much too young to be wandering the streets alone. She initially thought she was someone else's pet but she wasn't. She thought she was pregnant as well, and took her to the vet. Despite the fact that her partner has allergies, she took the cat in.   • This little girl sure is brazen. When you meet a cat simply demanding you to take them you only have one choice. Some cats from the cat distribution system wander into your life gently, others spend weeks earning your trust from the outside streets. But this tortie? She's so bold and queen-like, she just decided to adopt this human by standing on a pile of wood and meowing. She's so bold that she wouldn't take no for an answer. Think about the fact that the woman's partner is allergic to cats, and they took her in anyway! She must be really quite the convincer because I don't know anyone else who would take a cat with a cat allergy. There are certain breeds that don't give you the same kind of issues, and maybe he's less sensitive to torties. Torties don't have the reputation of “tortitude” for nothing. They're so wonderfully confident, and their myriad of sass, intelligence, determination, and charm make them some of the best breeds to have.
